For some reason we have never seen a teenage girl out and about on our daily walks. So in light of Missy's reaction to our 13 yr old male teenage dog sitter I invited a 13 yr old neighborhood girl over to see how Missy reacted.
Missy absolutely loved her on first sight. She hurled herself into her lap, wagging her tail, and smiling as only a dog can. She did sits and downs, all the while trying to get closer to the girl. She got belly rubs and scritches, wiggling in pure happiness. You would have thought that she had just seen her long lost beloved owner.
So based on one data point. Missy absolutely adores teenage girls. Could it be that the shelter volunteers were teenage girls? Hard to say but Missy's reaction to the two teens could not have been more different.
Will Missy be at the Adoption event in Englewood tomorrow?

ReplyDeleteWe aren't planning to take her because of her recent spay. Her incision is healing nicely but we don't want to chance it opening up. Missy appears to be feeling more than fine. In fact she just grabbed a toy and ran a few laps around the inside of the house and through the front courtyard. Then when she saw me come in the back door she vaulted over the back of the sofa to see me.
